I’d been meaning to get out to Igora Drive for a long time — and finally, it happened.
A free day, accreditation in my pocket, the sun shining — no way I was staying home.
The briefing made me smile: no boring lecture, just a QR code and a short video with clear safety rules. Straight to the point. After that — the track, the smell of gasoline, and the anticipation of the first cars.
When sports cars burst out of the corner and fly past at roaring revs, you forget to blink. The camera catches a few sharp frames — and you already want more. I can’t even say what grabs me stronger: the moment a Porsche tears down the straight, or that sound vibrating through your chest.
For my first time, I came away with a handful of solid shots, but I know one thing for sure: I’ll be back.
This kind of reportage shooting is the essence of motorsport — atmosphere, dynamics, emotion, all in a single frame.
And for me, as a sports photographer from Saint Petersburg, it’s the perfect way to combine the adrenaline of racing with the thrill of chasing movement.
